Speak Easy reworks today’s hits with a vintage twist, blending popular songs from the past 50 years with just enough jazz to evoke the prohibition era. The result is a specialty act built around familiar material, retro styling, and a speakeasy-themed live feel.

Fronting the band is vocalist Annette “Nettie” Frank. A descendant of one of the Ziegfeld Follies girls, she is a seasoned singer and dancer who graduated from Orange County High School of the Arts in Southern California. She has fronted several bands, opening for Katy Perry, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Temptations, The Pointer Sisters, Chaka Khan, Kelly Clarkson, and others. She has also appeared in commercials and on television, including Felicity, Beverly Hills 90210, C.S.I.N.Y., and Saved By The Bell, and was recently seen performing with Generation Idol on A.X.S. TV’s live broadcast of The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands.

The band performs under the musical direction of bassist Derek Frank, who plays for Shakira, Shania Twain, Gwen Stefani, Air Supply, and other major acts. The standard full-band lineup is 8 members, with 2 vocalists, 2 horn players, and a 4-piece rhythm section. The group can also expand to a 15-piece ensemble or scale down to an intimate 4-piece quartet.

The presentation leans into the speakeasy concept, with references to secret staircases and hidden doors, while keeping the focus on recognizable songs delivered in a vintage style.
