About Us
The Georges formed in 2008 when Jason George’s family band changed direction and moved into dance-focused material with broad appeal. By 2010, that mix of styles and an energetic live show had built a strong following in Central Texas.
In October 2010, The Georges began a residency at Gruene Hall that has continued for sixteen years, playing two to three Wednesdays a month. The band also holds a residency at The Devil’s Backbone on the first Saturday of every month.
Their sound is rooted in Roots Rockabilly, with country and roots rock at the core, plus a heavy dash of pop and British Invasion jangle. The lineup features co-founder and former Two Tons of Steel lead guitarist Dennis Fallon, former Two Tons drummer Chris Dodds, and Vance Hazen on upright bass.
In 2019, The Georges released Los Jorges, produced by Pat Manske and recorded at The Zone in Dripping Springs, TX.
