About Us
The Latin Rock R&B Show brings together Cannibal and the Headhunters, Malo, and Thee Midniters for a program centered on Latin Rock, Doo-wop, and R&B Soul. The show is hosted by legendary radio DJ Shotgun Tom Kelly of Sirius XM 60s Gold Channel 73.
Cannibal and the Headhunters are marking their 60th anniversary, making this a milestone booking built around a long-running name in rock and roll. The show is backed by Cannibal and the Headhunters, who will also perform their own set, with one backline used for the whole show.
Malo celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2021. Their hit Suavecito reached No. 18 on the Billboard charts in April 1972. The band has 10 albums to its credit, has recorded the live album Latin Legends Live, and continues to tour.
Cannibal and the Headhunters made their mark early with Land of a 1000 Dances. The Na, Na, Na, Na Na vocal line created by Cannibal Frankie Garcia has been covered by 58 recording artists worldwide. The band continues to tour and remains a staple on concert stages.
Thee Midniters were nominated for a Grammy Award in 1965 for their number one hit Whittier Boulevard. From 1965 through 1969, they opened for The Doors, Hermans Hermits, Steppenwolf, and many Motown artists. They were one of the first Latino rock and roll groups from East Los Angeles to reach national acclaim.
A promo for the show sold out on May 4, 2024 in Cerritos, California. Booking dates are available for 2024, 2025, and 2026.
